The Last Temptation

Jonathan Leong (a.k.a ZXEROKOOL)'s The Last Temptation 3.0 (a reinterpretation of the Temptations of Christ by Sandro Botticelli) continues his ongoing practice of reforging pieces from the pantheon of Art History via the lens of today's digital culture.

Just as Botticelli's piece was a visual opera that told the cautionary tale of mankind's triple threat of greed, power, and lust; Jonathan's work continues the spirit of this dialogue through the visual discourse of humanity's present struggles using the iconography of Memes and Pop Culture symbolisms.

Jonathan's work holds up a satirical mirror toward the struggles of today's saturated dopamine-infused digital environment that blurs the distinctions between art and memes, memes and life.
